Description

Cure any and all collecting depressions with this FDR signed TLS. As 32nd President of United States Franklin Delano Roosevelt led our Nation through most of the Great Depression and WWII, winning an unprecedented four presidential elections in the process. This charismatic leader gained great popularity through his regular “fireside chats” radio broadcasts. Roosevelt’s direct manner is evident in this short but polite personal note dated 11/29/30. While sitting as Governor of the State of New York, FDR addressed this correspondence to “Colonel W.J. Wooten” of Hollywood, CA. Measuring 8 x 10-1/2”, this fantastic original document appears on official State of New York Executive Chamber letterhead which remains appealing despite a clipped corner at top left that does not affect any of the letter’s contents. Uniform cream colored, this vintage letter has stood the test of time to provide great display appeal. Two original compacting folds fortunately pass through blank sections without compromising any text or the all important steel-tip fountain pen signature which exudes admirable (“8-9”) executive strength. Full photo LOA from JSA.
