The would-be successor to President William McKinley, Vice President Garret Hobart died of heart disease at the age of 55 in 1899, two years before McKinley was assassinated and succeeded by Theodore Roosevelt. This incredibly rare artifact hails from that administration and is autographed by Hobart. The 3-9/16 x 2” business card reads “The Vice President” in elegant font. On the reverse, Hobart has signed in black ink fountain pen (“10” strength) and added inscriptions of “Yours Sincerely” and “Vice President.” Full photo LOA from JSA
